A particular speciality of the Jim Stokes Workshops is the re-creation of historic cars. When an original chassis and/or parts are no longer available, our team has the skills and manufacturing facilities at its disposal to completely re-create an original design.
Typically, this will involve sourcing whatever parts are available, using industry contacts to gain access to original parts or historic archives and then manufacturing chassis, mechanical and bodywork components from scratch.
Computerised scanning and 3D-modelling techniques are used to create CAD/CAM drawings of all sorts of component (including bodywork) and the end result is inevitably better documented than the original!
Lancia-Ferrari D50s and a 156 'Sharknose' have already been re-created and other projects are in the pipeline.
